Rising from the ashes of the now sadly defunct Committee Band, Panjandrum are a band playing for English ceilidh dances with the emphasis on providing the most danceable, foot-tapping music. Our tunes come from all over the place, England, Italy, France, Sweden, Finland, Northolt – in fact anywhere that can provide you with memorable melodies.

About	We're a new ceilidh band formed by some of the ex-Committee Band musicians to carry on the "good music from anywhere" theme, but with a different sound. Having played together for getting on for 25 years as part of The Committee Band, we thought it was a shame to let all that experience go to waste after the farewell TCB dance at the 2010 Xmas Knees-Up. It's a nonsense word made up in a text by Samuel Foote in 1754 to test the powers of  Charles Maklin who claimed to have an astonishing memory, but has since come to mean an important or influential person in one's chosen field of experience, amongst other things! We hope that we have been and will continue being a large and influential presence in the uk ceilidh world. It was also a WW2 crazy weapon invention!
